KH Innovation, a consultancy firm focussing on the Life Sciences Tools and Molecular Diagnostics industry, was founded by Klaus Hentrich in 2016.
Klaus leverages 10 years of experience in the biotechnology industry together with deep scientific expertise in molecular biology.
Prior to establishing KH Innovation, Klaus worked in senior strategic marketing roles at GE Healthcare Life Sciences where he managed product portfolios with over £10 million in annual revenue, initiated R&D projects with a cumulative budget of over £1 million, and led several global product launches. He also actively participated in the roll-out of FastWorks, General Electric’s novel framework for the new product development process, building on “The Lean Startup” approach.
His technical expertise and understanding of the Research market is rooted in seven years of running molecular neuroscience projects at the Max-Planck-Institut für experimentelle Medizin, a high-profile German research institute. Klaus holds a MSc in chemistry from the University of Marburg and a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Bochum. He has lived and worked in the UK, France and Germany and speaks three languages.
Recent projects he has conducted or directed include:
- Global strategic portfolio roadmap for DNA amplification reagents (PCR and isothermal amplification)
- Product development targeting the nascent single cell genomics market, from scouting the market opportunity through to global product launch
- R&D roadmap and framework for metrics-driven project prioritisation for a genomics company
- Marketing strategy for proprietary genotyping technology, including customer segmentation, value proposition and key selling points
- Product re-formulation to address third-party IP, removing a substantial royalty burden and obtaining freedom-to-operate
- Europe-wide marketing campaign for innovative molecular cloning technology
- Business development for fledgling B2B manufacturing of room-temperature stable (lyophilised) molecular diagnostics assays; growth to million-pound business.
